Acura NSX: Speed, Style and Safety.

The Acura NSX is a sports car that needs no introduction. It has a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive layout, V6 VTEC engine, and an all-aluminum body and chassis. This vehicle showcases the Acura’s superior racing technology through its ultra-light chassis. The NSX has always have had a strong line of supporters, mainly driving enthusiasts and young drivers. It has come to be known as the “first Japanese exotic super car” and this title came about when a 0 to 60 time of 5.2 seconds was recorded during a comparison to a Ferrari 348. It was also awarded by Wheels Magazine in Australia the “Car of the Year” award for 1991.

During ugly conditions in a Formula One race, a safety car is always used. Since its production, the NSX has always been used as a safety car at the Suzuka Circuit as well as the Japanese Grand Prix. This attests to its good balance of safety and speed.

One of the most endearing things about the NSX is its comfort. Unlike other sports cars, this is a vehicle that you just feel natural driving everyday and though it is two doors, the visibility is quite good and in turn avoids any feelings of claustrophobia.

The release or the Type-R or the NSX-R had the weight of the car reduced to 1270 kg. Panels and air fences were used to give the car a negative lift and the spoiler added probably was the “largest one-piece carbon-fiber spoiler in production cars” and all these made it possible for the NSX-R to be highly competitive with other high-powered vehicles such as the Ferrari and Porshe. Soon enough, the NSX-R GT was released and added were a lot of aerodynamic technology such as its lower and wider body and the snorkel attached to the roof of the car.
